ABOUT THE IONIAN
The Ionian
The Ionian Islands are located off the west coast of Greece, stretching from the Albanian coast to the southern tip of the Peloponnese. They form the sea boundary between Greece and Italy. The Ionian Islands are known for their lush greenery (due to high winter rainfall) and numerous large bays with clear water. The Ionian Islands have a distinct cultural identity with many Italian influences, due to the centuries long Ventian rule of the islands.
